Sir Tim Hitchens (KCVO, CMG) is the current president of Wolfson College. Prior to taking up this position he had an esteemed 35 year long career as part of the British Diplomatic Service. He held a variety of positions in a range of countries including: Head of the Political Section at the British Embassy in Pakistan, speechwriter for Foreign Secretary Douglas Hurd, Assistant Private Secretary to HM Queen Elizabeth II from 1999 - 2002, Deputy British Ambassador in the British Embassy in Paris, Director of European Political Affairs in London, in 2008, Africa Director in 2012, and most recently British Ambassador to Japan from 2012 - 2016.
